Daycare is Open for the Winter Season!

Mt. Hood Meadows one of the only resorts in the nation to offer state-certified childcare for infants as young as 6 weeks old. Daycare will be open from 8 AM - 4:00 PM, seven days a week. Our staff-to-child ratio is a minimum of one staff member for every four infants and toddlers up to 30 months, and one staff member for every 10 children ages 30 months to 11 years. We also offer daily group lessons for kids ages 3 - 6.

Bring little ones up for a 4-day Preschool Camp or just drop in for the day to enjoy the fun Mt. Hood Meadows has to offer. You are also welcomed to work remotely from one of our lodges. However you spend your day, you will enjoy a view of Mt. Hood!

The 3,544-square-foot facility has room for 44 children. Drop-in care is available to infants as young as 6 weeks old through school-age children up to age 11. Infants and toddlers will follow their own schedule, while preschool and school-age children will have a mix of free and structured playtime. We encourage enriching activities that support friendship, sharing, and learning, with a new theme each week. Ski or snowboard lesson add-ons are also available through the Meadows Learning Center for preschool and school-age children!

Please note: Mt. Hood Meadows is a state-certified childcare facility. Snacks and lunch will be provided if your child can eat what we offer. We are a nut-free facility. Our weekly meal menu is posted in the classroom and in the Daycare Lobby and is available via email upon request.

Spaces are limited, so please make your reservations as soon as you can. Reservations should be made at least 48 hours prior to the requested arrival time by filling out our Daycare Reservation Request at the bottom of this page to check on available space. You may also email us at daycare@skihood.com. Your reservation will be confirmed in a follow-up email. Our pricing structure follows the Value Pass calendar which can be found here.

Download the Daycare Registration Packet in advance to speed up the registration process at the resort. Upon making your first reservation, you will also receive a copy of the parent handbook; also available in hardcopy in the daycare lobby at any time or upon request.

Preschool Camps

We are excited to continue offering 4-day camps for our preschoolers (ages 30 months through 5 years old*) in addition to drop-in care. These fun-filled theme weeks are a great opportunity for your preschooler to enjoy the mountain environment and make new friends. You may add ski or snowboard lessons onto your child’s camp as well!

Please note: Camp is not offered during holiday weeks or on weeks with holiday Mondays, although drop-in care is still available. The camp is for the week it is purchased only, no makeup days or substitutions. (Should the daycare close due to a highway or resort closure, a makeup day will be offered.)
Lesson add-ons may not be appropriate for all children. This group lesson experience includes up to one hour on snow for 3-year-olds and up to two hours on snow for 4- & 5-year-olds, as well as equipment rental, including helmet. We encourage preschoolers taking lessons to purchase a season pass.

Camp Price: $200
Two Days of lessons Add-on (Tues/Thurs only): + $100
Four Days of lessons Add-on (Mon-Thurs): + $200

*Children should be at least 30 months old by the first day of camp.

Drop-in Care Lesson Add-ons

Lesson add-ons are available for half-day and full-day daycare children who desire to learn to ski or snowboard and, if rentals are required, fit into our rental equipment. All lessons include the cost of equipment rental, including helmet. Our group lessons are available for both skiing and snowboarding and for any ability level. Reservations are required and subject to availability. Instructors will split their time between classes and we don’t like to rush your child’s experience, so we cannot give a specific time when they will take your child on snow. If you are unsure your child is ready for lessons, we are happy to work with you to help you decide the best course of action. Private lessons are also available to daycare participants.

Daycare Option

For preschoolers under 4 or for those who are not yet ready for a two-hour group lesson, the daycare option is a great choice for those signed up for a full-day or half-day of daycare. MLC instructors will take small groups of kids of similar ability level and the same discipline out on snow for up to one hour at a time. Lessons focus on safety, fun, and learning.

Daycare Combo

For preschool and school-age children in daycare ages 4 and up, children will be escorted to the MLC to participate in a lesson with their peers of similar age and ability up to two hours in length. Children will be escorted back to the daycare facility at the end of the lesson.
