First Time Skiing / New Adventure
Designed for those trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time, this class will orient you to the equipment and will introduce basic maneuvers such as gliding, stopping and first turns. The lesson may cover an introduction to riding the Ballroom Carpet conveyor lift as well as the Buttercup Chairlift if you're ready. Lesson content will also cover Your Responsibility Code with regards to slope etiquette.
Novice / Maybe your 2nd or 3rd Day
This lesson picks up where you left off from your first or second lesson. You'll revisit what you learned previously with the expectation of heading to the Buttercup Chairlift if you didn't go there in a previous lesson. You may also explore terrain off Easy Rider or Vista Express, depending on your progress.
Beginner / Cruising the Groom
These lessons are designed for those who have skied or snowboarded several days and generally are comfortable on green runs. Participants will learn to improve their balance and turning ability, working towards techniques to build confidence. We divide these groups based on student goals and with others of similar speed and terrain preference.
Intermediate / Exploring the Mountain
These lessons are designed for those who spend most of their days on groomed blue terrain. Participants will learn to adjust their turn shape and size to gain confidence in steeper terrain as well as techniques to create higher performance turns. We divide these groups based on student goals and with others of similar speed and terrain preference.
Advanced / All-Mountain
To sign up for these lessons, you must be able to make turns consistently on easier black terrain. These lessons focus on improving skills in steeper terrain and more difficult snow conditions so participants can explore more of the mountain. We divide these groups based on student goals and with others of similar speed and terrain preference.
Advanced & Expert / Freeride & Freestyle
To sign up for these lesson you must be able to ski or ride on most terrain at Meadows. A Freestyle focus lesson take place on small and medium features depending on ability, and focus on breaking down the fundamentals of approach, takeoff, maneuver and landing so students can progress towards more difficult maneuvers and features. Freeride focus lessons with explore Meadows' varied terrain and enhance your skills and ability to access more of the mountain with style and ease. Lessons will incorporate Smart Style safety information for all participants. We divide these groups on the mountain so students are skiing with others of similar speed and terrain preference.
