Meadows Nordic Center - Thanks for a great season! 2023-24 Nordic Season Passes now on sale.

The Meadows Nordic Center offers up to 15 kilometers of groomed and set track through beautiful wooded trails and meadows. We have both Skating and Classic striding lanes for cross country skiing. The Nordic Center is also the starting point for the Elk Meadows and Sahalie Falls snowshoe trails - snowshoeing is not allowed on the groomed Nordic ski trails with the exception of these two trails. The Nordic Center is located at the Hood River Meadows parking lot, 1 mile north of the main entrance to Meadows on Highway 35. There is no parking permitted at the entrance to Sahalie Falls Road. Please park at the Nordic Center and use the access trail to get to Sahalie Falls. 

As much as we love dogs, they are not allowed on our Nordic trails. There are areas where dogs are allowed - see the map below for those areas. And as always, please pick up after your pets.

We are open Thursdays through Mondays from 9 AM to 4 PM through March 23, as well as every day during Spring Break. Closing weekend is scheduled for April 1-2 (check our Hours of Operations page for the full schedule). If you park in the Twilight lot please do not walk on the Nordic trails. When returning to your vehicle please be mindful of the people using the trails and slow down.

Lessons must be purchased by 4 PM the day before you plan on coming up

The Meadows Nordic Center offers both group and private lessons every day it is open. We provide opportunities to learn either Classic or Skate technique.

Group lessons need to be booked online in advance here. Our group lessons go out at 10 AM and 1 PM, and if rentals are needed, we ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your lesson time.

Private lessons can be arranged in advance by calling the Nordic Center at 503.337.2222 ext. 1262 or by emailing us. Private lessons can be scheduled for the time that best suits your needs. If you want to select an instructor ahead of time, search for the sport Cross Country using the dropdown menu, or book based on date and time preferences.

The Nordic Center is a modular building at the east end of the Hood River Meadows parking lot (not the Hood River Meadows lodge – skier services building found near the bottom of the Hood River Express). The Nordic Center is where you purchase your track fee, as well as rent equipment or arrange for cross country lessons. You can also rent snowshoes at our Nordic Center.

We offer snowshoe rentals from the Nordic Center as well as from the Rental Center in the Sahale Lodge in the main base area.
