While we would have preferred to be running lifts this holiday weekend, there is still much to be thankful for. The storm we received earlier this month dropped 17 inches of snow in the base area. And temperatures have been very cold since then, even though we haven’t received any snow since, except for about an inch on Tuesday. We are grateful to our mountain team that has worked hard to preserve that snow upon which we will build our base for the season. The drone footage in the video above shows all the track packing and preparation our grooming team accomplished right after that storm to help maintain that base.
We’re grateful for a forecast that could get us open this time next week. And to our resort and mountain teams who have made all the preparations for a quick opening once the storm arrives. We are grateful that many of our team will be able to spend Thanksgiving with their families and friends.
We are also looking forward to offering transportation for our youth weekend programs - SnoBlasters and Trail Blazers will be able to ride motor coaches for their four-week Saturday and Sunday sessions in January and February. We are having full-day children’s lessons this season, offering indoor supervision and lunch, meaning mom and dad can drop the kids off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon after their lessons. The last two seasons, we offered only half-day lessons and didn’t provide any supervision before, between, or after. This is much more convenient for families, and we are thankful that we will be able to offer it.
We are thankful we will be able to offer Daycare this season, so young families can enjoy their time on the mountain. COVID precautions had prevented us from offering this very popular and valuable service the last two seasons, but we enter with a Daycare team that just can’t wait to welcome families back.
We are so stoked about fully utilizing the Sahale Lodge as it was intended when it was constructed two seasons ago. With Sahale accommodating lesson and rental services and restaurant operations on the second floor, we will be able to host wedding and conference events on weekends in Vertical (third level of the North Lodge). That has always been our dream and we are grateful we can offer that stunning and hospitable space for special events this winter.
We appreciate the partnerships we have created to add so many lifestyle events at Meadows this season, so you can share friendship and socialize on the mountain regardless of how you are recreating.
And mostly, we are grateful for our team and our guests. We share a love for this mountain and a genuine zest for spending time with each other here at Your Mountain Home.
Happy Thanksgiving - we hope you can share it with your family and friends, and we can’t wait to see you here on the mountain soon.
