Opening Day the season is underway

Categories: Guest Connection Media Center

We opened the 2021/22 season to an enthusiastic crowd ready to hit the slopes. Eric and John were first in line, arriving more than two hours before lifts launched. The first 50 in line at the Daisy chair received "First Chair" buffs from Black Strap.

The early arriving crowd filled the main lot and overflowed into the Sunrise lot. Spaces reopened in the main as the early powder seekers got their runs in and headed down the mountain.

We are open daily from 9 - 4 and we expect to add the Mt. Hood Express high speed quad and the terrain it serves on Monday. More lifts are scheduled this week as this storm which has already dropped three feet of snow so far is forecast to continue. We have a 36 inch snow depth in the base area, close to four feet at midmountain.

With more snow we will add more services. Looking ahead to later this week we're shooting for opening Nordic (possibly Thursday) and then moving into our night operating schedule beginning Saturday. This is dependent on getting more snow. So keep doing your dances!
