A wintry weather pattern is dropping fresh snow on Mt. Hood Meadows - a powdery prelude to the Spring skiing season to come. Meadows received a foot of fresh on Monday, 20 inches in three days, and is forecast to receive a half a foot or more this week.
This storm cycle has pushed the seasonal accumulation at Meadows beyond its historic average of 430 inches. Meadows currently has a 151-inch snow depth in the base area, and 214 inches at mid-mountain. Meadows will operate daily from 9 AM - 4 PM through April 18, and has added April 23 - 25 and April 30 - May 1.
Demand for outdoor winter sports continues this Oregon Spring Break week. Meadows reminds those planning trips that tickets, lessons, and rentals must be reserved and paid for online in advance. Meadows is also seeing a surge in other snow sport activities, including Nordic skiing and snowshoeing.
